I've been fighting with my hair for about a month.
It seemed like the roots were constantly dirty/greasy--even after I just shampooed.
Enter one of my very best friends and her hair-acle (like miracle). After I so awkwardly made her run her hands through my hair and explained my symptoms, she diagnosed that I had a lot build up from my dry shampoo, etc.
I needed a clarifying treatment.
So off we trudged to Target in the dark. Bought everything except for clarifying shampoo.
. . . a candle, Vitamin C gummies, hair ties, thank you cards . . .
But we did score a new friend in the shampoo isle. She told us that I should try vinegar to remove the excess buildup. Sounds like a fun experiment!
Here's my recipe:
2 cups of warm water
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
+Shampoo hair as usual
+Pour solution on your head, focusing at the roots
+Massage in
+Leave on for five minutes
+Plug your nose because it smells
+Rise
+Shampoo again
+Condition
My hair feel amazing!
I plan on doing this once a month or so. If you decide to try--let me know!
Also, am I the only one who suffers from product build-up? Ew!
I use a clarifying shampoo once a week to keep the build up at bay since I use dry shampoo daily! Lush has a great all natural one called "Big" but vinegar will do the trick too!

i tend to have this problem not only because of product but because of the hard water at my house. I use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner once a week or so and then every few months I have a malibu treatment at the salon. =) p.s. i have to say i'm loving the no face pictures, it makes you mysterious and intriguing!!!!!

Yay! Thanks Kristen! :) It's a silver lining. ;) ;)
DeleteYour hair always looks great Leighann! I never have buildup problems because I never know how to do my hair so I don't do anything at all! :( .. I do hate the smell of vinegar, but I've also heard it's supposed to make your hair really shiny, so that might make it worth it!
ReplyDeleteNo, I loved it. Just get yourself a nose-plug. ;) ;)
